Panther Youth Football & Cheer (aka Coventry Youth Football & Cheerleading Association) is a non profit organization which provides children between the ages of 3 and 13 with the opportunity to participate in America's favorite sport... FOOTBALL! The Panther organization consists of 4 tackle football teams and cheerleading squads based upon age, and also includes a flag football and cheer component for our youngest athletes.
The Panthers are a member of the Northern Connecticut Football League (NCFL), which is comprised of 9 regional teams from the towns of Ellington, Enfield, Putnam, Stafford, Tolland, Colchester, Coventry, RHAM, and Suffield/Granby.
- To provide a wholesome, enjoyable experience for all 3 to 13 year old kids participating in football and cheer, while teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport, to include teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline and response to leadership.
- To encourage all players to maintain satisfactory grades while in school, as well as emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors.
- To provide a satisfying and rewarding experience for coaches, sponsors, and those administering the program, through their relationships in teaching and working with our youth participants.
- To provide a well organized and implemented program that is appreciated and favorably received by the parents of the community.
